Why is feminism still a topic in our society?

Why is feminism still a topic in our society? Well, in Germany the situation has improved considerably, but if we look at other countries, women are still strongly disadvantaged. And also we, as a society here in Germany, are not yet free from the old thought patterns, from the demands on our gender. I think it's really important to understand that the topic of feminism is not about condemning men. At least not those who walk through the world sensitively. However, unfortunately, we still have to realize that woman as well as man are intertwined in structures of the time. Even if we no longer see the brutality that patriarchy brought on a daily basis and in the open streets, there are still remnants in our minds and in the system, that keep us trapped in role models. We should see feminism as a movement that challenges us to put ourselves in the place of the opposite sex. Men who feel attacked or excluded by International Women's Day, for example, are not ready to celebrate being a woman, however it is lived out. Of course, the feminist movement in, for example, Germany, but also in other liberal countries has changed. The task of this movement is different from that of fifty years ago. We have experienced a positive development, yet the feminist movement is often discredited. At the same time, we should remember that it is about raising awareness of certain issues, which includes a lot from human rights to LGTBQ rights. Feminism in our country is also a voice for oppressed people in countries where patriarchy is still very dominant. Moreover, we should be clear about this: Freedom must be fought for constantly.
